Frankie Mae Sims' Obituary
Frankie Mae Sims, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her residence. She attended Rossville High School. Frankie was employed by the Hamilton County School System as a bus driver and retired after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Christopher Sims, Sr.; mother, Minnie Pearl Moten; father, John T. Winston, Sr. and Eddie Cleveland; brother, Eric D. Winston. Survivors include her son, Baszil Porter; daughter, Aquanetta Porter; stepsons, Lebron Sims and Christopher Sims, Jr.; stepdaughter, Adrienne Sims, all of Chattanooga; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, John T. Winston, Jr. of Rome, GA; sister, Teresa (James) McLin of Chickamauga, GA; aunts, Shirley Watkins, Elizabeth Tramble, Sandra Smith, all of Chattanooga, Sara Ann Porter, Ella B. Cleveland, both of Chickamauga, GA, Lurline Person of Dayton, OH, Minnie Cargill of College Park, GA, Peggy Boddie of Atlanta, GA, and Brenda Ware of Roanoke, AL; uncle, Rowe “Uncle Brown” Winston of Roanoke, AL; brothers-in-law, James Sims of Chattanooga, Gilbert (Sharon) Sims of Atlanta, GA, George (Skitter) Sims, Lee (Beverly) Sims, and Jerome (Francis) Sims, all of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Georgia (George) Ford of Chattanooga; devoted niece, LaShonda McLin; several nieces; nephews; cousins; special friends, Elizabeth Jackson, Tina Webb, Carolyn Rutledge, and Letha Hubbard; other relatives and friends. Frankie will lie-in-state on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 879 N. Hwy. 341, Chickamauga, Georgia with Pastor Ron Carson as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
