Flora Lee Strickland's Obituary
Flora Lee Strickland, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 in a local hospital. She was a member of Pierce Avenue Baptist Church. Flora retired from North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company as an underwriter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Ida Hill; husbands, Alfonso Strickland and Robert Yearby; brother, Willie James Hill; sister, Susie Steele; son Daryl Strickland; and great-grandson, Zyon Johnson. Survivors include her sons, Ronald Strickland, Keith Strickland, and Thomas Strickland; grandchildren, Shonteion Strickland, Marcus McWorther, Zantreus Johnson, Shanerra Johnson, Shamia Strickland, Jarvis Strickland, Jamal Strickland, and Julius Strickland; great-grandson, Angel Strickland and 21 other great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Jeanette Sparks; daughter-in-law, Sharon Strickland; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; devoted dog, Blackie. Flora will lie-in-state on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
