Fiona Anna-Marie Thompson's Obituary
Miss Fiona Anna-Marie Thompson, 47, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, in a local hospital. Born on December 22, 1977, in London, England, Fiona brought warmth, intelligence, and a generous spirit to all who knew her.
Fiona moved to the United States on July 20, 1994, where she pursued her education at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. There, she earned her degree in Food and Nutrition Dietetics and graduated with honors, Cum Laude—an achievement that reflected both her academic dedication and passion for health and wellness.
A woman of deep faith, Fiona gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of nine. Her spiritual home was Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Pentecostal Church located at 400 Tunnel Boulevard in Chattanooga. Her commitment to her beliefs was unwavering and served as a guiding light throughout her life. Fiona had a profound love for music she played the piano and achieved distinct honors. She loved cooking—especially baking bread and cakes—which she often shared with those around her. She also found joy in reading and taking long walks, activities that allowed her thoughtful nature to flourish. Known for being a kind and intelligent independent thinker, Fiona gave more of herself than she ever asked in return. She was a great friend to many and left an impression through both her words and actions. One of her most memorable reflections was the question she once posed: “Will it matter when you are 80?”—a testament to the depth with which she approached life.
Fiona was preceded in death by her father, Arnold George Thompson. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Marcia Evadne Thompson; brothers, Anthony Leroy (Kathleen) Thompson and Shaun Alexander (Ericia) Thompson; sister, Emma Adina Thompson; nephews, Daniel Thompson and Joshua Thompson; and close family friend, Tim Hutchins; as well as extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Fiona will lie-in-state on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Pentecostal Church. The funeral service honoring Fiona’s life will follow at 12 noon at the church. The repass will be held at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be Monday, December 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens.
