Ezell Garth, Jr's Obituary
Ezell “Buddy” Garth, Jr., 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, in a local healthcare facility. He was born May 15, 1949 in Huntsville, Alabama to Ezell Garth, Sr. and Mary Garth. He was of the Baptist faith. Ezell was a graduate of Kirkman High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 5 years, from 1969-1975, and received an honorable discharge at the end of his service time. He was formerly employed by the Chattanooga Times-Free Press and retired after 16 years of service.
Ezell was preceded in death by his father, Ezell Garth, Sr.; mother, Mary Garth; sister, Tometta Parker Smith; niece, Tara Garth Bostic; and granddaughter, Kutura Jones.
Survivors include his daughters, Trinette (DeAnte) Madry and Robbie Nollie, both of Chattanooga; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Mattie Garth Rigby (Donald Sledge) of Chattanooga; brother, Jesse Garth of Cincinnati, OH; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Ezell will lie-in-state on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
