One of the first things I remember about Mr. Eugene was his smile. It was the kind of smile that immediately made you feel welcome. He embodied true Southern hospitality, welcoming me into the Chattanooga Convention Center with a glass of sweet tea and making me feel like I belonged from day one.
I had the privilege of sitting down with Mr. Eugene on many occasions and listening to the stories of his life's adventures. He had truly lived a remarkable life and was always willing to share his experiences, wisdom, and memories with those around him. Every conversation left you with a smile, a lesson, or a new perspective.
More than anything, I will remember his kindness, his warmth, and the genuine way he connected with people. Mr. Eugene made everyone feel valued, and his presence left a lasting impression on all who had the opportunity to know him.
