Estella E. George's Obituary
Estella E. George, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday June 6, 2022, in a local hospital. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and the Volunteer Club. She was a 1956 graduate of Howard High School where she studied cosmetology. She was previously employed by the State of TN and the Hamilton County Department of Education as an elementary school substitute teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J George; parents, Leonard and Josephine Campbell; siblings, Alvin, Doris, Lillian, Leonard Campbell, and Gwendolyn Sharp. Survivors include son, Yolanda Terry of Chattanooga; daughter, Sharon Bryant of Chattanooga, son, Michael (Marsha Denise) Green of Dover, Delaware, and daughter, Shannon (Renodus) Newman of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Brandon Havis, Chandra McElroy, and Clifford Bryant, Michael Alvin, Marcianna, and Malia Green, Mario Smith, Shane Smith, and Christian (Audrey) Newman; great-grandchildren, Gabriella McElroy, Journey Bryant, and Cameron Smith; brothers-in-law, Ike and Elijah George of Birmingham, AL, Robert (Ethel) George of Euclid, OH, and Johnny and Wilbert George of Mobile, AL; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Walker of Birmingham, AL, Katie Tabb of E Cleveland, OH, Annie Webb of Euclid, OH, Edith George, Adeline Carroway, Lizzie Minter, and Carolyn Conners of Mobile, AL; nieces, Terea Plant (CA) and Celestine Sharpe (OH); and a host of other relatives and a very special friend and neighbor, Thelma Bolden. Pastor Charles Moore will serve as the eulogist.
