Ernestine Tumlin was born on April 7, 1934, to parents James Bush and Velma Woods, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She retired from Erlanger Medical Center after many years of dedicated service. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Bush and Velma Woods; husband, Lewis Tumlin; son, Alfonso Bush (Pete); grandson, Derek Bush; brothers; Roland Bush, James Bush, Larry Bush. Sisters; Gwendolyn Taylor (Pig), and Velma Jean Bush. Ernestine passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in a local healthcare facility. Survivors include her daughter, Argentinita Peoples (Michael) Ware; grandsons, Kelvin Byrd, Brandon Westfield; granddaughter and caretaker, Bonnie Peoples (Dewayne) Moore; granddaughters, Ronika Bush, Brittany Westfield; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; aunt, Dorothy Woods; brothers: Jimmy Bush, Lebron Bush; sisters, Argentina Pollard, Carolyn Bumpass, Vivian Bush McClendon, Thelma Crutch; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She will lie-in-state on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, February 2, 2024, at 12 noon in the chapel with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
