Emma was called "Emma Jean" back in the day
and in later years, called simply Emma..We were "besties" from grades 1 thru 7, WALKED, talked, laughed and played to and from Chatta. Ave. Elem. School as well as Second District Junior High, which was located on "a Noble Hill Upon the West."
We were so close that we were in the same rooms during those years and often spent nights at each others homes.
Afterward, our families relocated to opposite sides of town. Although separated, I never forgot her and as fate would have it, I had the opportunity to teach three of her children..Vincent, Kim and Chris were courteous, mannerable and were a constant reminder of their mother, "Emma Jean". Their school was Dalewood Jr. High at that time.
Emma's daughter, Kim, was my joy, captured my heart, and was her mother's twin. She was a "winner", smart and every teacher's perfect student. Needless to say ,I often related to her how much she reminded me of her mother.
Today and always, I'll share in the loss of Emma, I'll also think of her and now I send condolences to the ENTIRE Goins and Wood family.. especially her brother Richard. It was a pleasure to have experienced my walk with "Emma Jean" and have been a best friend..GOD BLESS ALL and may she RIP now.
