Emma Louise Ervin's Obituary
Emma Louise Ervin, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, in a Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia healthcare facility. She was a faithful member of Olivet Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was on the Mother’s Board, was a greeter, president of the Progressive Club, and a member of the Widow’s Harvest Kitchen Committee at St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Ervin; parents, George Hargrove and Emma Horton; sister, Flossie Phillips; brothers, Felix Hargrove and David Hargrove; and sister-in-law, Velma Flanagan. Survivors include her son, Scottie (Montinque’) Ervin of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, LaScottsha (Steven) Coope of Knoxville, TN and Antwan S. Williams of Fayetteville, TN; great-grandchild, Tipton Coope; brothers, Tommie (Shirley) Hargrove of Fayetteville, NC and Rueben Flanagan of Copperas Cove, TX; sister, Georgia Mae (Billy) Oliver of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Mable Hargrove of Huntsville, AL; treated as a son, James A. Franklin; treated as a daughter, Candace Rock; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
