Edward Paris' Obituary
Edward “Ed” Paris, 73, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the Hospice Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Frances A. Pankey Paris; father, Willard Rankin Graham; brothers, DeLeon Shaw, Murphy Paris, William Paris, and Francis Paris; sisters, Aretha Johnson and Naomi Cothran. He was a 1964 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He received a football scholarship to Tennessee State A & I University. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State College. Edward retired from TVA as a supervisor. He was a lifelong member of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity. Survivors include his former wife of 48 years, Dr. Mary Paris; sons, Corey Paris of Chattanooga and William Paris of Salinas, CA; daughter, Dr Tammy Paris of Murfreesboro, TN, 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Joyce Strong and Gladys Paris; a host of nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers and cards, please make a donation in his memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
