Eddie Elaine Jasper's Obituary
Eddie “Elaine” Mecay Washington Jasper, 65, formerly of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, in her Antioch, Tennessee residence. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and received her certificate in Nursing. In 1984, she started her tenure with Dr. Elliot and Cynthia Himmelfarb, serving as the nanny to their children, Cara and Eric Himmelfarb. When the children grew up and left home, Elaine took on the role of housekeeper. She remained a dedicated worker for the Himmelfarbs (39 years) up until her health challenges prevented her from doing so. Elaine professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the age of seven and becoming a member of Fowlkes Street Church of Christ. She would later become a member of Limestone Baptist Church in Franklin and maintain that membership until her death. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jasper; mother and stepfather, Esther and Felix Wilson; father, Clifford Washington, Sr.; brothers, Clifford Washington, Jr., William “Buzzy” Washington, and James “Cowboy” Wilson; best friend, Rena Terrell; sister-in-law, Tamera Wilson; brother-in-law, Tommy Murdic; goddaughter, Briana Terrell; cousins, Ervin E. Denkins, Jr. and Ervin E. Denkins, III. Survivors include her daughters, Ashley White and Amber Jasper (Larisha Johnson), both of Antioch, TN; grandson, Armani Hough of Antioch, TN; sisters, Deborah Murdic of Franklin, TN and Mary (Stanley) Trice of Nashville, TN; brothers, Wayne Wilson and Richard Wilson, both of Nashville; nieces, Cathy Murdic, Tiffany Taylor, Stacey (Kevin) Watkins, and Stephanie Hardison; nephews, Nicholas (Tanae) Murdic, Edward (Leeann) Murdic, Vandell Patton, Brent Washington, Clay Washington, and Carter Washington; loving friends, the Himmelfarbs, Walter Olive, Rita Jenkins, Lynette Russ, Barbara Sowell, and Teresa Demumbran; godchildren, Leka Leach, Bliss Thomas, Quinia Steele, Tia Terrell, Lafonda Sowell, Shavonna Cannon, Quita Dodson, Kayla Baugh, Omar Terrell, and Justin Reffegee; and a host of "adopted" grandchildren; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and loved ones. Elaine will lie-in-state on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:30-1:00 p.m. at Waters Mortuary. She will then lie-in-state from 2-3 p.m. at Limestone Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Wayne McCullough officiating and Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
