Eddie Lee Burkes' Obituary
Eddie Lee Burkes, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away recently at his residence. He was a 1966 graduate of Howard High School and attended Tennessee State University. He was a member of Avondale Church of Christ. Eddie retired from Alstom Power, Inc. after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nancy Burkes, Sr.; brothers, James A Burkes, Jr. and Robert Burkes. Survivors include his brother, Shelber (Shirley) Burkes, Sr. of Chattanooga; sister, Betty Burkes (Phillip) Maddox of Ringgold, GA and sister/niece, Nancy Maddox of Chattanooga; special niece, Karen Sterkey; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. is the eulogist.
