Douglas Corbin's Obituary
Douglas Juan “Shorty” Corbin, 73, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at his residence. He was a 1969 graduate of Howard High School. Douglas was a Delivery Driver and an Umpire for adult baseball and softball teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Nell Justice; father, Lathe Corbin; daughter, Tonyia Corbin; sister, Theresa Shumaker; brother, Edward Swain; grandparents, Reverend Claude and Inez Copeland; and nephew, Marcus Arnold Sr.
Survivors include his sons, Lathe Corbin of Chattanooga and Demarius Corbin of Chicago IL; daughter, Denise (Ronald) Blackwell of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Shateria Smith, R’mani Blackwell, and Lai’Una Corbin, all of Chattanooga; grandson, Ronnie Blackwell of Chattanooga; sister, Edith Williams of Chattanooga; brothers, Seabron (Mickey) Battle of Chattanooga, Clarence Swain of Indiana, and Terry Hollis of Alabama; several other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, May 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Cook, Sr. as the Eulogist.
