Dorothy “Dot” Katherine Chalk, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the Hospice Care Center. She attended Riverside High School. Dorothy was formerly employed as a teacher at First Cumberland Child Care Center. She was a member of Faith Unlimited. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Johnson and Francis Johnson; five brothers; and eldest son, Larry Starling, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Eddie Harris and Corey Harris; daughter, Katherine (Walter) Lindsey, all of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren, Ladarius Blunt, Larry Starling, Larrysha Starling, Kianna Lindsey, Cam’ron Harris, Genesis Harris, Starlynn Harris, Walter Lindsey, III, Kasidee Harris, and Aleyah Harris; 6 great-grandchildren, Laila Starling, Lyrik Starling, Correll Staerling-Powell, Jer’kyla Lawson, Zy’lani McClendon, and Donte Blunt; brothers, Claude (Willie Mae) Johnson of Acworth, GA and James (Doris) Johnson of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Brenda Johnson, Renita Johnson, Betty Morgan, Sandra Gordon, all of Chattanooga, Liza Mitchell of Acworth, GA, and Francis Barnes of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Randy Petersen will be the eulogist.
