Doris Jefferson's Obituary
Doris Jefferson, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 in a local hospital. She was born in Tuscumbia, AL, and graduated from Leighton Training School in 1954. She accepted Christ at an early age, and became a member of Avondale Church of Christ. Doris retired from Belk Department Store after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jefferson; mother, Mary V. Ricks; uncle, John D. Ricks; and aunt, Willie Arlene Colbert. Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth A. Gates and Valerie Napier, both of Chattanooga; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ricks; a host of relatives and friends. Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. will serve as the eulogist.
