Doris Hatten's Obituary
Doris Hatten, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, in a local hospital. She was a 1963 graduate of Howard High School. She attended Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Doris was preceded in death her husband, Roy Hatten; daughter, Carol Ross; father, Walter Daniels Rainey, Sr.; mother, Irene Shumake; brother, Walter Daniels Rainey Jr.; sisters, Julie Mapp and Elizabeth Johnson. Survivors include her sons, Vincent (Deborah) Hatten and Spence Hatten, both of Chattanooga; daughter, Connie Hatten of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Cierra Hatten, Chelse Hatten, and Marcelleus Hatten all of Chattanooga; brothers, Willie Rainer of Chattanooga, Michael (Sharon) Seay of Chester, VA, Willie George of Milwaukee, WI, George (Fayette) Rainey of Detroit, MI, Russell Rainey of Atlanta, GA, Jeffery (Sue) Rainey of Mobile, AL, Timothy (Gloria) Rainey of Huntsville, AL, and Joseph (Barbara) Seay of Chattanooga; sister, Jerilyn Gurley of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Ann (James) Stewart of Chattanooga, Leona (Andrew) Solomon of Cincinnati, OH, Rosa (Raymond) Covington of Atlanta, and Helen Readus of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor William H. Ryan, III will serve as the eulogist.
