Donnie Leon Roberts' Obituary
Donnie Leon Roberts, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the Siskin of Chattanooga Hospice Care Center. He was born in Cleveland, OH. Donnie was a 1975 graduate of Riverside High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He later went on to attend UTC and Chattanooga State where he earned multiple Associates degrees. Donnie was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Men’s Usher Board, Scholarship Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Evangelism School, and Family Ministry #10. Donnie was a talented artist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Anne E. Smartt Roberts; grandparents, Lemuel and Esther Smartt, Claude and Clara Roberts; mother-in-law, Evelena Hines, and devoted aunt, Clara Smartt Rivers. Survivors include his devoted wife of 13 years, Malinda Roberts; sons, Torron Crawford of Plainsfield, IL; step-son, Anthony Burgess of Chattanooga; daughter, Leonna Roberts of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Diavi McDuffy, Dayen Crawford, Dania Crawford of Plainsfield, IL; sisters, Beverly (Larry Sr.) Rowe of Chattanooga, Rosalind (Willie Sr.) Marshall of Atlanta, GA, Emily (Richard) Pitts of Ballwin, MO, and Natasha (Excellent) Character of Chattanooga; uncles, Willie G. Roberts of Eutawville, SC and Kenneth Roberts of Chattanooga; aunts, Robin Roberts and Deborah Smith, both of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Mary Hines of Livingston, AL, Sharon Hines, Valentina (Alan) Duckett, and Veronica (John) Biffle, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; special friends, Barbara Lindsey Roberts and Eric Kennedy both of Chattanooga. Special thanks to: Dr. R. Hunter Jennings, III, Dr. Julia Henry, Dr. Anz, Memorial Oncology Staff, and Siskin’s Hospice of Chattanooga “Comfort Care” Staff. Dr. Reverend Ernest L. Reid, Jr. will be the eulogist.
