Derrick Davis' Obituary
Derrick Lamont Davis, 61, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was a 1982 graduate of Brainerd High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University where he joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Martha Smith; and fraternal grandmother, Dorothy Craighead.
Survivors include his son, Isiah Lewis, Sr.; grandson, Isiah “Baby Zay” Lewis, Jr.; father, Tolbert (Ralphene) Davis of Cleveland, TN; mother, Sylvia (Jerry) Spriggs of Chattanooga; brothers, Brian Davis and Corey Spriggs, both of Chattanooga; sisters, Lori (Steve) Sills of Birmingham, AL, LaBrina Ashley, and Arenthia Davis-Taylor, both of Chattanooga; uncles, Lawrence (Rozene) Smith of Rockford, IL and Larry (Linda) Calloway of Georgia; aunt, Janice (Melvin) Brummitt of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Derrick will lie-in-state on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Minister Harriett Sills as the Eulogist.
