Delores Irene Domineck's Obituary
Delores Irene Domineck, beloved Mother, G-mama, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, in a local hospital. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and attended Howard High School. Delores was employed by Loveman’s-Proffits Department Store and retired after 30+ years. She was a faithful member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a Charter member for over 90+ years. She served as the Deaconess Board President, served on the Missionary Society, sang in the Combined Choir, was a Sunday School Teacher, served on the Virtuous Women of Excellence Ministry, as well as the Widow’s Harvest Ministries. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter, Sr. and Mattie Brown; husband, Arthur Domineck, Sr.; son, Arthur L. Domineck; mother-in-law, Pauline C. Long; siblings, Ellwillie Hourston, Baxter Brown, Jr., Esther Holloway, and Dorothy Rucker; nephews, Raymond Brown, Tim Benton, and Gerald Benton. Survivors include her sons, Calvin Ray (Faye) Maddox of Knoxville, TN, Eric L. (Darnelle) Domineck of Baltimore, MD, and Arthur (Karen) Domineck, Jr. of Suisun, CA; daughters, Dorothy D. (Willie) Graves, Patricia (Tim) White, Rhonda Jones, and Frankie Kendricks, all of Chattanooga; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Fears of Chattanooga; devoted nieces and nephews, Glorius and Marvin Skillern, Sue Richards, Lovell and Shelia Culberson, Mattie Adams, Bernard Culberson, Janice High, Victor Ellis, and Daphne Nance; adopted children, Herbert and Pat Gray, Pastor C.A. and Sabrina Harris, Barry and Cindy Burnette, The Ushers, Claudette, Jackie, Carla, Dennis and Star Willis, and The White Family; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; devoted friends, Lorene Edwards, Beverly Jackson, Margaret Riley, and many other friends. Delores will lie-in-state on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12 noon at Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Terrance Hannah as the Eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
