Deday Williams, Jr.'s Obituary
DeDay WIlliams Jr., 92, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, transitioned from his earthly home into eternity on January 24, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. He was a graduate of Howard High School. Deday was employed at Holsum Bakery for many years, where he worked as a maintenance engineer. He later retired from Colonial Bakery after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Bakery Confectionery Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers Union (BCTW & GM Local 25).
https://Mr.Williams also served as a member of the Prince Hall Masons Lillie White #293 for over 50 years, during which time he served as Chaplain. Most knew Mr. Williams as a hard working man who often shared a “Word from the Lord” with others. DeDay enjoyed listening to gospel music, reading scripture, staying current with the news, working word find puzzles, and being a handyman around the house and for others in need of home improvement projects. Deday was affectionately remembered by family and friends for saying “Toodaloo”, which means “see you later” after his visits.
Survivors include his sons, Randolph Ware, Derris Ware, both of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Deforrest (Bobbie) Williams of Buckeye, Arizona; daughters, Teresa (Kirk) Kelly, Kathy (Robert) Clark, both of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Brenda Brittian of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Tena Williams of Ooltewah, Tennessee; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Although he is no longer with us, we will treasure our memories of him always.
Deday will lie-in-state on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Pastor Gerald O'Guinn as Eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
