Debra R. Sanders' Obituary
Debra R. Sanders, 64, of Chattanooga, made her entrance to the heavenly gates on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in a local hospital. She was born on September 18, 1958, in Whitwell, Tennessee. Debra was employed at TVA for 40 years. She was an active member of New Piney Woods Baptist Church where she was on the finance committee. Debra was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl (Herman, Sr.) Bivins; father, Charles (Stella) Cunningham; brothers, Miles Bivins and Herman Bivins, Jr.; sister, Edna Owens. Survivors include her husband, Jock Sanders; son, Joshua Sanders; daughters, Deidra Sanders; grandchild, Mya Sanders; brothers, Randy (Vivian) Cunningham, Terry (Tabitha) Cunningham, and Steve (Donna) Cunningham; sisters, Virgina (Larry) Owens, Charlene (Issiah) Cherry, Gloria (Willie) Johnson, and Denise (Alphonza) Townsend; special friends, Yolanda Crawford and Marilyn Millsaps; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Debra will lie-in-state on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Phynis Hall as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
