Debra Jean Nash's Obituary
Debra Jean Nash, 56, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023. She was a 1984 graduate of Brainerd High School. Debra was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Sygbee Nash; mother, Loretta Nash; grandmothers, Bertha Stoudemire and Annie Bacon; grandfathers, Percy Allen, Sr. and Frank Cunningham. Survivors include her son, Marcus Lee Nash of Chattanooga; sisters, Janice Nash (Arnold) Walker of Chattanooga, Sojourner X “Angel” Nash of Denver, CO, Sojourna X “Jai” Nash (Fred, Jr.) McIntosh and Veronica Nash, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Debra will lie-in-state on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Billy Church as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
