Deborah Denise Percy Horne's Obituary
Deborah Denise Horne, 65, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her residence. She was a 1976 graduate of Howard High School and a member of Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a private duty sitter. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and was known for her dress. Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Joe Lewis Horne; and mother, Mary Lucille Mitchell; sister, Mary Jo Horne; great-grandson, Kaleb Ammons; stepfather, Joe Mitchell, Sr.; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include her sons, Derrick Ammons, Jerome Wyatt, David Scott, Darnell “Cooper” Banks, Larry Banks, and Cordarrian (Marquise) Ellison; 11 grandchildren, DeArrika Ammons, Danielle Ammons, Christopher Ammons, MaJayla Banks, Olivia “Tynae” Banks, Shamaerial Sutton, Shamya Sutton, Shamiracle Sutton, all of Chattanooga, Brooklyn, Gabriel, and Hykeem, all of Cleveland, TN; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie (Courtney) Horne, Jerry Jones, and Anthony Horne; sister, Phyllis (Brian) Storey; aunts, Lillie Ruth Swafford, Marie Swafford, and Cindy Bailey, all of Chattanooga; nephews, Fredrick (Rosalyn) Bell, Sr., Noah Lenny Mclemore, and Albert “Rell” Horne; niece/caregiver, Kizzy (Mark) Jones, other nieces, Nasheeta Horne, Meon (Edozie) Medinus, Alicia “Lisa” Stone, Arie, Ariel, and Christel Horne; other caregivers and daughters-in-love, Junya Harris and Crystal; a host of other relatives and friends. Deborah will lie-in-state on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Lebron Young as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
