De'Kota M. Williamson's Obituary
De’Kota Marie Williamson, 9, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, in a local hospital. She was a student at The Glenwood Elementary School. She attended Greater Faith Temple. She was a member of Greater Pilgrim Joy District Association, Inner City Ministries First Centenary, and MVP Summer Camp (Church of the First Born). DeKota was musically inclined and her gifts were shown at an early age. Any person she came in contact with was touched tremendously by her. De’Kota always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed singing and playing her tambourine. De’Kota was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rayfield Williamson; sister, Jasmine Michelle Williamson; and great-grandmothers, Jacquelyn Reid-Steele and Jacqueline Brown. Survivors include her father, Jayson R. Williamson of Cleveland, OH; mother, De’Metria Steele of Chattanooga; stepfather, Darius L. Coker, Sr.; grandparents, Connie Williamson of Chattanooga, DeSica Harris of Dalton, GA, and Harold Brown of Chattanooga; brothers, Jazel Williamson of Chattanooga and Caiden Williamson of Delray, FL; favorite and devoted uncle, Rahmon “Uncle Mon Mon” (Tasha Flowers) O’Neal; godparents, Marlin Dakota and Haley Faith Morlin; a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives and friends. De’Kota will lie-in-state on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Brandon Malone as the Eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
