David B. Thompson's Obituary
David Bernard “Noochie” Thompson, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at a local hospital. He graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1971. David served in the United States Navy. He attended Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a member of the International Brotherhood Workers. David was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Leo Thompson; mother, Artensie Thompson; brothers, Harvey Thompson and Bobby Thompson. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Valerie Thompson, of Chattanooga; son, David (April) Thompson, of Chattanooga; daughters, Yureka Millener, of Fairburn, GA, and Saterial Paris; son, Derrick Lewis; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon Thompson, of Chattanooga, and Ronnie Thompson, of Dayton, OH; sisters, Annie Ford, Aldgenette Leatherwood, and Sharon Thompson, all of Chattanooga, Darbara McElroy, of Dallas, TX, and Karen (Ron) Morrison, of Suffolk, VA. David will lie-in-state on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor James A. Smith as the eulogist.
