David Allen Mayes Sr.'s Obituary
David Allen Mayes, Sr., 65, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, in an Athens, Tennessee hospital. He was a 1976 graduate of Riverside High School. He was a member of Stanley United Methodist Church. David was a veteran of the States Army. He was formerly employed by Solutions Pharmacy. David was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Mayes; and mother, Alma Mayes. Survivors include his sons, David Mayes, Jr. and Michael Mayes, both of Chattanooga; daughter, Shameka Mayes of Huntsville, AL; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Neal, Mary Adams, Martha Newson, Bernice Patterson, and Montil Swanson, all of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. David will lie-in-state on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 9:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. There will be no service.
