David Lee Calloway, Jr.'s Obituary
David Lee Calloway, Jr., 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in a local hospital. He was a graduate of Mumford High School in Detroit, Michigan. David was a veteran in the United States Army and a Purple Heart recipient. He was formerly employed at TVA as an Environmental Service Worker. David was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Calloway, Sr.; stepfather, William E. McBee; son, David Christopher Roddy; daughter, Tabitha Hall; grandson, Carlos Mosley, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Chalk. Survivors include his mother, Kathleen McBee; his daughters, Wenona Calloway and Edwina Calloway; grandchildren, Jacques Chalk, Michael Crowder, Jr., Henry McClendon, Jr., Hallea (Shay) Williams-Moore, and Tahj Toney; brother, Rawland Calloway, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Pearl Calloway Powell of Taylor, MI, Mary Dobbins Paris, Martha Lewis, Yalonda Bryant, Uhonta (Frank) McFarland, Abagail Hammonds, Imogene Logan, Dedra Calloway, and Debra (William) Sullivan, all of Chattanooga; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. David will lie-in-state on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
