Dante Angelo Edwards' Obituary
Mr. Dante Angelo Edwards, age 52, departed this life on May 14, 2026, in Chattanooga following medical complications. Dante was born on January 3, 1974, in Detroit to the late Joyce Edwards and Donald Smith. At the age of twelve, Dante moved with his mother to Buffalo, where he was raised and spent much of his formative years.
Following the passing of his mother, Dante was lovingly raised by his aunt, Carrie Price, whose love, care, and guidance helped shape the man he became. Dante was known for his beautiful smile, warm spirit, and contagious laughter. He was a kind-hearted man who deeply loved his family and friends and was always full of laughter. His presence brought joy to those around him, and he will be remembered for his loving heart and gentle nature. He attended high school and later earned his G.E.D. During his younger years, Dante enjoyed playing football, basketball, and boxing. In his spare time, he especially enjoyed fishing, which brought him peace and happiness. Dante was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Dante was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Edwards and Donald Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved brother, Shedrick Edwards; his cherished nephew, Shedrick Edwards Jr., whom he loved dearly; a host of paternal siblings; and many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
The family extends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Taylor Funeral Home for their care, compassion, and assistance during this difficult time. There will be no memorial service held at this time. Though Dante has departed from this life, his smile, laughter, kindness, and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Lovingly submitted by the family.
