Danny Robert Beck's Obituary
Danny Robert Beck, 64, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in a Dalton, Georgia Hospital. He was born on July 4, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Danny was a graduate of Brainerd High School’s Class of 1977. He attended East Tennessee State University and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Danny was a member of Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Colen; brothers, Leroy Beck, Jr., and Eric A. Colen; maternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Towns; and fraternal grandmother, Vera Young. Survivors include his companion of 25 years, Virginia Young; sons, Marcus Beck and Derrick Lyons, both of Chattanooga, and Lamar Young of Dalton, GA; daughters, Shanika Beck of Chattanooga and Kenya Young of Dalton, GA; fifteen grandchildren; mother, Carrie L. Beck of Chattanooga; brothers, Claybrook Adams, Maynard Beck, and Mark (Kim) Colen, all of Chattanooga; sister, Paula Leath (John P.) of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Marvis Adams, of Fayetteville, NC, and Deborah Colen of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Danny will lie-in-state on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 1:30-5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alonzo Noble officiating and Pastor Alexander Bullard, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
