Dale Sewell's Obituary
Dale Sewell, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, in a local hospital. He was a 1973 graduate of Howard High School. Dale served in the United States Army. He retired from Koch Foods as a supervisor. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Elizabeth Sewell; and father, Chestley Sewell; brother, Donnie Sewell; nephews, Eric Moss and Shawn Sewell Washington; great-niece and nephew, Ashley and Damien Robinson; grandparents, Annie Miller, Thad Adams, Mamie Sewell, and Johnny Sewell. Survivors include his son, Dale E. Sewell; daughter, April M. Sewell, both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Amare Smith and Kamden Sewell; 4 god grandchildren; brothers, Chestley Sewell and Gregory Sewell, both of Orlando, FL; sisters, Bettye Moss, Darlene (Sylvester) Ware, Karien Sewell, Gwendolyn (Thomas) Ruffin, Elizabeth Ray of Murfreesboro, TN, and Trudy Sewell; mother of children, Effie L. Bryant; special friend, Yvonne McDowell; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Dale will lie-in-state on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Willie Kitchens, Jr. as the eulogist. Burial on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
