Crystal Hardy's Obituary
Crystal Hardy was born on February 13, 1984, to Belinda Hardy and Charles D. Marsh, Jr. in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the second born out of three children. She passed away tragically on Friday, August 22, 2025, in her Gwinnett County, GA home. Crystal was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Claude Steward, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Barbara S. Marsh and Charles D. Marsh, Sr.; maternal aunt and uncle, Jacqueline Jones and Claude Steward, Jr.
Crystal was a 2002 graduate of Hixson High School, where she was a cadet in ROTC. Her Home Economics teacher often referred to her as, "Betty Crocker," because she cooked so well and always kept a clean station. She was very creative and gifted in drawing and painting; creating recipes; styling people with clothes and makeup; and home décor.
During her early career she spent several years as a CNA for Memorial Hospital, Parkridge, and Alexian Brothers. Eventually, Crystal went on to graduate from Chattanooga State in 2013 with her associate's degree. She gave birth to a sweet baby girl in September of 2013 that she named, "Chloe."
Crystal decided to relocate to Atlanta, GA in 2015 to embark on a new career as an Endoscopy Technician. She performed several contract jobs for various hospitals and clinics throughout metro Atlanta, including Northeast George Medical Center. She loved working with her colleagues and providing care for her patients. She was a devoted mother, who loved her daughter and took very good care of her. She was also a loving and cherished daughter, sister, and auntie.
Those left to cherish Crystal’s precious memory include her daughter, Chloe Williams of Chattanooga; her parents, Belinda Hardy of Chattanooga and Charles D. Marsh, Jr. of Chickamauga, GA; her siblings, Sabrina Nunn of Dublin, GA and Charles D. Hardy of Chattanooga; her grandparents, Bobby Lee Howard and Lelia Mae Howard, both of Chattanooga; her aunts, Carolyn Rutledge of Chickamauga, Marcia (Donald) McGraw of Apison, TN, Aileen Young of Chattanooga, and Jimmie Lee See of Ft. Worth, TX; her uncle, James (Leonila) Marsh of Conyers, GA; her brother-in-law, Calvin Nunn, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; her two nieces, Laila Nunn and Maya Nunn; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Crystal will lie-in-state on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial in Tyner Cemetery.
