Corey DeWayne Taylor Sr.'s Obituary
Corey DeWayne Taylor, Sr., 48, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2024, at his residence. He was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a 1995 graduate of Howard School of Academics and Technology. Corey was formerly employed by Krystal’s and also employed by Forest Hills Cemetery. He was a member of New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God. Corey was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Alfonzo Fisher and Lehmon Taylor, Sr.; grandmothers, Gladys Banks and Delsia Taylor; father, Lehmon Taylor, Jr.; bonus dad, Steve Horton, Sr.; brother, Jamall Johnson; sister, Cammillia Hudgins; and niece, Ieashia Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Stacy Taylor; son, Corey Taylor, Jr. of Maryland, PA; daughters, Khyarah Taylor and Khyanna Coverdale, both of Maryland, PA; 7 grandchildren; mother, Earline Hudgins of Chattanooga; brothers, Glenn Taylor, Lehmon Taylor, III, both of Chattanooga, and Issac Johnson of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Selena (Andrew) Perry, Starlisa Horton, Dometria (Demeatrius) Issac, Melissa (Michael, Jr.) Stevenson, and Nicki Hudgins, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Lewis (Yolaundia) Banks, James Banks, and Larry (Sandra) Banks, all of Chattanooga; aunt, Regina Fisher of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Burial for Corey will be Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 12 noon at New Anointing Pure Holiness Church of God with Dr. Eric D. Sims as the Eulogist. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
