Claudette Lanise Clyde's Obituary
Claudette Lanise Clyde, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at her residence. She originally lived in Nashville, Tennessee and was a graduate of Pearl High School, Class of 1976. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee State University and her Master’s Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. Claudette was employed by the Chambliss Children’s Center, Tennessee Department of Employment Security in Nashville and Chattanooga. She was a teacher for Chattanooga High School, Brainerd High School, and Ridgeland High School in Walker County, Georgia. She was also formerly employed by Advance Auto Parts. Claudette was a Howard Band Booster and a Scenic City Bugle Corps staff member. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie Lee Dyer, Georgia Foster Dyer, and Martha Hibbett; parents, William Lee Clyde and Mildred Dyer Clyde; and sister, Barbara Clyde Sharp. Survivors include her loving nephew, Dameon Sharp; brother-in-law, David Sharp, both of Chattanooga; devoted cousin, Ernestine Foster; devoted friends, Phyllis Weaver of Knoxville, TN, Rita Jackson, and Patricia Merritt of Nashville; a host of other family members and friends. Claudette will lie-in-state on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor R. Lavon Yates as the eulogist.
