Christine Moore's Obituary
Christine C. Moore, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, in a local hospital. She was born in Lexington, Georgia on November 13, 1947, and was a 1966 graduate from Riverside High School. She later went back to school to receive her A.S. Degree in Business Administration at McKenzie College. She retired from Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute after 42 years of service. Christine was a faithful member of Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church from 1989-2004, where she was a member of the Choir and the Willing Workers. From 2004 until her passing, Christine was a faithful member of Hope City Church (previously: Friendship Central Community Church) where she served as a Greeter, a volunteer Administrator for the Bishop’s Office, the overseer of the Funeral Ministry, the secretary for the Titus 2 Women’s Ministry, and a Prayer Intercessor. She was also a faithful participant of the Eastgate Senior Citizens Bible Study. Lastly, but definitely not least, Christine was a dedicated and humble volunteer for Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc. She would also lend her services to help out at some of the other local funeral homes. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Wise and Mary Ella Jones; sisters, Mildred Wise and Mae W. Harden; brothers, Sam Waller and Phillip Jones; nephews, S.A. Waller and Joseph Harden, Jr.; and niece, Lillie Rean Waller. Christine leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Sonya Cooper Shannon and Duana Cooper, both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Christina Ringer, Christopher D. Clark, and Deonté J. “DJ” (Jasmine) Clark; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Jones; sister-in-love, Virginia C. Jones; devoted best friends, Thelma Anderson, M. Patricia Akins, and Martha Draper; and other family members. Christine will lie-in-state on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Hope City Church. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Pastor Ciby Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
