Cherry Shirlean Hood's Obituary
Cherry S. Readus Hood, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, in a local hospital. She was Head Majorette and graduate of Howard High School. Cherry furthered her career path at Southern Bell Telephone Company, was Secretary for Flop Fuller, and Provident Insurance Company just to name a few. She enjoyed working in customer service. Cherry enjoyed sewing, making countless outfits for her friends and family. She was of the Christian faith and attended the Church of Christ in Chattanooga. Cherry devoted everything to her son, Damien Readus, who preceded her in death along with her parents, Lula and Cletus Readus; husband, Lonnie Hood; grandparents, Brady and Niecy Cathy, Felix and Alcindy Readus. Survivors include her sisters, Vanessa (John) Bullard and Brenda (Richard) Cotton, both of Chattanooga; brother, Ronnie (Evelyn) Readus of Ringgold, GA; nieces, Cecilia (Jonathan) Rooks and Tameka (Antwon) McDaniel; nephews, Jimmy Miller, Terry (Michelle) Readus, Ronnie Readus, Jr., and Richard Cotton; aunt, Marie Readus Maples of Chattanooga; several uncles; cousins; other relatives and friends. Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. will serve as the eulogist.
