Che'Anthony Berry Jones Cannon-Taylor Jr.'s Obituary
ChéAnthony Berry Jones Cannon-Taylor, Jr., 26, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023. He was affectionately known as “Fatboy” and was born October 29, 1996, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Saudia Cannon and ChéAnthony Taylor, Sr. He was the fourth of sixteen siblings. Although born in Chattanooga, ChéAnthony spent his adolescence in Atlanta, Georgia and relocated back home in his teen years. He then attended Howard High School where he became a valuable player on The Hustlin’ Tigers Football Team as an offensive lineman, playing with number 65. While attending Howard, he discovered an interest in welding and after graduating in 2015, his love for welding led him to further his education and became a certified welder. He was most recently employed with Volkswagen, where he put his well-earned trade skills to great use. ChéAnthony had a beautiful smile that could light up any room. His laugh was always inviting and his spirit was loving no matter who you were. ChéAnthony was a family man who loved his two children (Harmony and ChéAnthony, Jr.) dearly. He was known to always protect those in need and to be a listening ear in times of trouble. He was also the family’s comedian. On holidays, birthdays, or in times of grief, he could always find a way to make everyone laugh. He was known for always saying “I’m Big, But I’m Sexy.” ChéAnthony enjoyed eating, making funny tik-toks, watching his team, The Pittsburgh Steelers, play, and spending time with family and friends. Those that truly knew him would agree he had a heart of gold. ChéAnthony was preceded in death by his eldest brother, Alprintess Clymez Cannon a.k.a. Samuel Demarcus Foster; maternal grandmother, Ms. Queen Easter Godwin; fraternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Laura Mae Farmer; fraternal grandfather, Billy Joe Taylor, I; uncle, Alprintess Jabbar Godwin; and cousin, Terrell Alexander Taylor. Survivors include his daughter, Harmony A’Niyla Coleman; son, ChéAnthony Coleman, Jr.; parents, Saudia A. ChéAnthony will lie-in-state on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 12 noon in the chapel with Pastor Ronald B. Cook, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
