Charles Timmons' Obituary
Charles Edward “Pretty C” Timmons, 70, of Chattanooga, TN, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in a local hospital. He was born on December 9, 1954, to the late Annie Mae and Ben Lee Timmons.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age, anchoring his life in faith, kindness, and humility. He attended Howard High School and worked many years at Hys Car Wash, known for his strong work ethic, warm spirit, and great sense of humor. Charles will be remembered for his calm spirit, deep faith, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
A devoted sports fan, Charles loved watching basketball and football. Most of all, he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took pride in his growing family.
Charles also was preceded in death by his sisters: Carrie Singleton, Louise Timmons, and Beatrice Timmons.
He is survived by sons Marcus (Nancy) Davis and Charles (Shanda) Davis, both of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of Chattanooga; brothers Ben (Wanda) Timmons of Atlanta, GA, and Anthony Timmons of Chattanooga; sisters Mamie Lee Green, Pauline Ford, Leona Adams, Caregiver/Sister Patricia Timmons, and Wanda Banks, all of Chattanooga; aunts Alberta Harris of Madison, AL and Riola Williams of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Charles will lie in state on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Highland Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Ernest Jefferson serving as the eulogist.
