Charles William Davis, II's Obituary
Charles William Davis, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at his residence. He was born April 12, 1942 to Charles W. Davis, Sr. and Madie L. Terrell. He was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1962. Charles served in the United States Army, making a career, and retired after his service time. After returning home, he worked doing odd jobs around town. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Davis, Sr.; mother, Madie L. Terrell; sisters, Ana Lois Davis and Barbara J. Simpson. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 62 years, Marion Virginia Davis; son, Charles W. Davis, III; daughter, Oréan Y. Collier; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; father, Charles W. Davis, Sr.; mother, Madie L. Terrell; sisters, Betty Stinson, Priscilla Sanders, Qwen Davis, and Jackie (Charles) Hardy. Mr. Davis will lie-in-state on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pastor Hugh Byrd as eulogist.
