Cephas Wyatt's Obituary
Cephas Darnell “Snail” Wyatt, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in a local hospital. He was born on March 15, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Christopher Sr. and Mattie Wyatt. He was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System and was a 1971 graduate of Riverside High School. Accepting Christ at an early age, he united with Second Missionary Baptist Church. After graduation, Darnell joined the U.S. Army where he served for seventeen years. “Snail”, as he was lovingly called by his friends enjoyed all sports, dressing to impress, smelling good and keeping in touch with his family all over the country. His need to stay busy led to employment with Sodexo Healthcare Erlanger East as a EVS Technician. Darnell was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, Alonzo “Boo Boo” Thompson and Christopher (June) Wyatt, Jr. “Snail’s” life will forever be cherished by his daughter, Mia (Dimingo) Hussain; one granddaughter, Ava Hussain of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Ella Dezora Rhymes of Chattanooga; 2 brothers: Aaron (Joann) Lowery of Southfield, MI and Charles (Carol) Lowery of Bloomfield, CT; 8 nieces, Sharon Lowery of Southfield, MI, Aleisha Lowery of New York, NY, Deidra Lowery, Myra Kelley, Brenda Wyatt Talley, Debra Wyatt Hines of Chattanooga, Tina Wyatt Hall of Antioch, TN, and Jennie Scruggs of Covington, GA; five nephews, Darren Lowery of Bahamas, Aaron Thomas Lowery of Detroit, MI, Danny Wyatt of Rochester, NY, Tommy Wyatt and Jeffrey Wyatt both of Chattanooga, TN; devoted cousins, Wanda Butler of Canton, MI and Sharlene Clark of Sterling Heights, MI; dear friend, Sharon Patterson, with whom she shared many happy moments. Pastor Tyrus Chislom will serve as the eulogist. .
