Carolyn Lee Pines' Obituary
Carolyn Lee Pines, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at her residence. She was born on November 21, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Leroy and Levester Pines. From an early age, Carolyn’s caring nature, determination, and vibrant spirit were evident to everyone who knew her. She attended Howard High School, where she excelled both academically and athletically, proudly running track and forming friendships that would last a lifetime. After graduating, Carolyn went on to work for the Hamilton County Department of Education, where she dedicated many years of faithful service. She was known as dependable, hardworking, and kind-hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile.
Carolyn’s faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of Silvercrest Missionary Baptist Church, she served faithfully on the Usher Board for many years. Greeting others with grace and compassion, Carolyn took pride in making everyone who entered the church feel welcome and loved. Her service to the Lord and to others was a true reflection of her heart. Outside of work and church, Carolyn enjoyed life’s simple joys.
She loved traveling, gardening, cooking, and shopping especially when she could share those moments with her family. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and laughter, where she poured love into every meal she prepared. Her garden was her sanctuary, a space where she found peace and joy in nurturing the beauty around her. Above all, Carolyn’s greatest love was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of her presence. Her legacy of love, patience, and strength continues to live on through each of them. Her life was a living example of love, faith, and strength.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Levester Pines; her brothers, Amos Pines and Larry Pines; her beloved son, Jeffery Pines; and granddaughter, Willacia Linder.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Patricia Black, Kimberly Lollis, and Katrina Couch; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and two very special friends, Robbie Felton and Priscilla Thurman, who shared in many of life’s special moments with her.
To know Carolyn was to love her. Her laughter, wisdom, and giving heart touched countless lives.
