Carolyn Parker-Bins' Obituary
Carolyn Parker-Bins, 61, of Chattanooga, peacefully entered her eternal sunrise on Friday, February 27, 2026, at her residence. She was born on September 11, 1964, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Carolyn was a loving, caring, and selfless woman whose kindness touched everyone she encountered. Her heart was open to family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. She lived her life as a true servant of God.
Carolyn graduated from Riverside High School and went on to dedicate herself to caring for others as a CNA at Hamilton County Nursing Home. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession. She was also a proud businesswoman, operating her self-owned business, “Shop Until You Drop,” and working faithfully alongside her devoted husband in the cleaning service industry with “Dependable Cleaning Services.” She believed in hard work, integrity, and building something meaningful for her family.
Her love for the church and her community was unwavering. Carolyn devoted her time to bringing children to church—often fitting as many as eleven children into her small vehicle—simply because she believed every child deserved to experience God’s love. No distance was too far, no task too difficult. She always found a way to make it work.
Outside the church, Carolyn’s ministry continued. She had a true green thumb and found joy in gardening, planting with love and sharing her harvest generously. She often tried to feed not just her family, but the entire neighborhood. Her love and care reached throughout Chattanooga and surrounding areas, including Knoxville, Lookout Mountain, Signal Mountain, Monteagle, and Manchester, Tennessee.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond L. Parker and Willie Mae Cochran-Parker; her brother, Dwayne Cochran; and her aunts, Bessie Mae Woods and Mat Etta Fears.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband of 43 years, David D. Bins, Sr.; her daughters, LaShell Lasha Parker of Chattanooga and Rachel (Vernon) Bins; her son, David D. Bins, Jr.; and her beloved grandchildren, grandsons Christopher J. Turner, Adam I. Carter, Cedric J. Zackery, Jaxon Bins, and Verell Moore, and granddaughters Sade A. Bins, Taliyah G. Bins, and Trinity M. Bins, all of Chattanooga.
She is also survived by her brothers, Mark L. Parker, Vincent C. Parker, and Terry G. Parker; her mother-in-law, Gloria J. Harris; her sister-in-law, Jimmette Darlene Bray; her brothers-in-law, Richard (Lorraine) Brown, Jr. and George A. Brown; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Carolyn’s life was a testament to faith, sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Carolyn will lie-in-state on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Richard Brown, Jr. as the Eulogist.
