Carolyn Hammonds' Obituary
Carolyn Louise Hammonds, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her residence. She was a 1959 graduate of Howard High School. Carolyn attended Faith United Baptist Church. She retired from Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl Jackson;and brother, Aubrey Hammonds. Survivors include her son, Vinson Hammonds; daughter, Vanessa (Kelly) Gates; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Carolyn will lie-in-state on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Elder Andrew Ragland giving words comfort.
