Carolyn M. Douglas' Obituary
Carolyn Maxine Douglas, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, in a local hospital. She was a 1963 graduate of Morgan County Training School. She attended Chattanooga State Community College. She was employed for over 25 years with the City of Chattanooga Human Services. Carolyn was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ruby Stevens; brothers, Vernon L. Lewis and Curtis A. Stevens; and sisters, Joyce E. Stevens Matthews and Sierra Stevens. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bennie Lee Douglas of Chattanooga; son, Elton E. (LaTrice) Douglas of Chattanooga; daughter, Tanya Y. (Arthur) Douglas-Tibbs of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Jasmine (Bobby) Farrow and Tahji Campbell; great-grandchildren, Kaleb J. Farrow and Kierstan J. Farrow; brother, Terranzo B. Stevens of Germany; sisters, Yvonne (Ernest) Stevens McDonald of Huntsville, AL, Muriel P. McDonald of Atlanta, Deborah Jones of Hartselle, AL, Sharon Gholston of Decatur, and Francelia A. Torain, both of Decatur, AL; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Reverend William Washington will serve as the eulogist. Face coverings are required to attend the service per the request of the family.
