Carol Diane Brewer Jones' Obituary
Carol Diane Brewer Jones, 66, of Chattanooga, got her wings and went to walk with the angels on Monday, February 27, 2023, in a local hospital. She was born in LaGrange, Georgia, and was the fifth of 13 children. Carol graduated from Howard High School in 1974. She retired from the Hamilton County School system working as the head cook in the cafeteria. After retirement she remained active working at Serenity Daycare. She was a devoted servant and Treasurer at New Piney Woods Baptist Church. She was known for being a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, sibling, and friend. Carol always opened her home and heart to family and friends. In all her walks of life, she was a loving person to everyone. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Johnson; her father, Charlie Brewer; and granddaughter Latisha Alston. Survivors include her husband, Danny Jones; children, Walter Lee (Wanda) Brewer, Monte Lamar Brewer, Derrick Lebron Brewer, and April Shaunta Brewer; grandchildren, Monte Brewer, Jr., Shaquetta (Reggie) Jordan, Derreka Brewer, Dekayla Brewer, D-Ante Brewer, Vincent Bowling, Jr., Kiara Brewer, Markel Daniel, Shekinah Lackey, Aabiah Brewer, DeYanna Brewer, Montez Brewer, Eric Brewer, and Montasia Brewer; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Larrell Brewer, Charlie (Cynthia) Brewer, Jr., Timothy (Angelia) Brewer, Kelvin (Dawn) Brewer, Sr., Claude (Vicky) Brewer, Clark (Jennifer) Brewer, Patrick (Kim) Brewer, Nickolas (Beverly) Roberson, Mary (Gilbert) Armour, Gloria (Sam) King, Angela Brewer, Sharon (Mike) Chambers, Antoinette Brewer, Angie Brewer, Antonio Brewer, and Amber Brewer; bonus sons, Marchant Robinson, Sr., Brandon Robinson, and Antonio (Kathy) Espey; bonus daughter, Amber Thirkill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends. Carol will lie-in-state on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Walter Brewer as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
