Carlton Coates' Obituary
Carlton Demond Coates, 41, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. He attended City High School. Carlton was employed by 1885 Grill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Terrell; son, Daveon Coates; and daughter, Tatiyana Coates. Survivors include his fiancé, Teneika Brown; sons, Taemond Coates, Brandon Coates, Montavis Coates, and Kemon Coates; daughters, Demarjanek Coates, Melkayla Coates, and Mykendra Coates, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Jermaine Coates of Chattanooga; sisters, Lashawnya Ward and Bridgett Smedley of Chattanooga; uncles, Charles (Pinkie) Scott of Waynesboro, GA and Edward (Wanda) Pace of Chattanooga; aunt, Barbara (Larry) Sims of Chattanooga; niece, Ja’Kayla Coates of Chattanooga; a host of cousins; other relatives and friends. Carlton will lie-in-state on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
