Brian George Hooker's Obituary
Mr. Brian Hooker was born in London, England on November 3, 1936, to Charles Henry Hooker and Doris Irene Orwin Hooker. He was a naturalized citizen of the United States on September 14, 1984. In Chattanooga, he worked as an Insurance Underwriter and was a Deputy Sheriff in corrections for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office. He served in the Royal Air Force for 16 years (primarily based in the United Kingdom with bases in England, Scotland, and Wales). He worked in the NATO Intelligence Division and served in several locations, like the U.K. France, Belgium, Netherlands, Aden (Middle East), and Malaysia (Far East). He retired as a sergeant. He was a faithful member of New United Missionary Baptist Church. He was known for always trying to make others laugh. He enjoyed collecting coins and often shared coins with others, even strangers. Brian 88, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, in a local hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Irene Orwin Hooker and father, Charles Henry Hooker; brother, Leslie (Beryl) Terrance Hooker and Robin Hooker; sister, Kathleen Hooker. He leaves to cherish his memories is his devoted wife, Jennifer Johnson-Hooker; sister, Jennifer A. Hooker of Netherlands; brother, John (Ann) Anthony Hooker; stepdaughter, Kimberly (John) Shelling; numerous other family and friends of Chattanooga.
His daughters, Heather Ann Maxwell and Julie Therese Whatley both of England. His memorial service will be on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel.
