Brenda Heyward's Obituary
Brenda Joyce Heyward, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at her residence. She attended Howard High School where she marched with the Howard High School Marching 100. She was a 1966 graduate of Howard. Brenda received her B.S. degree from Knoxville College. She was a member of St. Mary CME Church where she sang in the choir. Brenda was a Substitute Teacher for Hamilton County Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Fredine Thomas; grandparents, Willie and Vashti Catchings. Survivors include her sisters, Juanita Thompson of Chattanooga, Beverly (Hugh) Polk of Owings Mills, MD, and Deborah (James) Garner of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Graveside service for Brenda will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 12 noon in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
