Bobby Lamar Threats' Obituary
Bobby Lamar Threats, Sr., 51, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in a Metairie, Louisiana hospital. He was born September 19, 1974, in Chattanooga. He was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1993. Bobby was known by his classmates as an outstanding wrestler and a member of the Howard Hustling Tigers Band.
Bobby relocated to New Orleans in 2006. He was employed by Vivid Ink Graphics as a Production Manager for 17 years. Bobby was a firm believer in God and strongly believed that God’s grace would cover him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Fleta Jennings and Christine Bryant; grandmother, Sarah Threats; great-uncles, Charles Davis and Neal Threats, Sr.; great-aunts, Dorothy Jennings and Brenda Bryant Young; aunts, Cheryl Davis and Valerie Blackmon; niece, Jazzmyne Ashworth; cousins, Fred Waters and Joseph Blackmon.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Kawana Threats; son, Bobby Lamar Threats, Jr. of Metairie, LA; daughter, Breyonna Threats of Harbor City, CA; 3 stepchildren; mother, Janis (Larry) McMillon; father, Sidney Blackmon; grandmother, Martha Blackmon; brothers, Corey Blackmon, Keye Blackmon, Rasheed Blackmon, Abdul Blackmon, and Ameen Blackmon, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Darlene Threats of Chattanooga, Charlene (Tim Thomas) Threats of Calhoun, GA, and Lakesha Threats of Chattanooga; uncles, Tony Jennings and Samuel Blackmon, both of Chattanooga; aunts, Beverly (David) Hamler of Petersburg, Detria Strickland, Sharon Blackmon Bennett, and Andrea Blackmon, all of Chattanooga; great-aunts, Dian Bryant and Danita Moore; great-uncle, Edward (Katherine) Bryant; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Bobby will lie-in-state on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Ron King as the Eulogist. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
