Bobby Franklin Hambright Sr.'s Obituary
Bobby “Chappy” Franklin Hambright, Sr., 77, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in Viviant Healthcare of Chattanooga, Tennessee surrounded by his son, Robert and daughter, Nedra. Bobby was born August 17, 1945 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the union of Mathis and Marie Hambright. He was the oldest of 3 children and the only son. Bobby was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1963. He also attended Chattanooga State Technology Community College where he earned an Associate of Science Degree in Information Systems Technology and a Certificate in Computer Operation. Bobby was formerly employed with Container Corporation and Bobby Hambright's Insurance Agency. He was a member of Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Odessa Ashford; George, Sr. and Irene Hambright; parents, Mathis and Marie Hambright; aunt, Letha Nelson; sister, Barbara F. Hambright; great-grandson, Demonta Hambright, Jr. He is survived by his six children: daughters, Marcia Hambright of Phoenix, AZ, Monica Hambright of Milwaukee, WI, Nedra Hambright (Brian) Atkins, and Ashlyn Hambright, both of Chattanooga; sons, Bobby (Arlene) Hambright, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Robert Hambright, Sr. of Chattanooga; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild; sister, Betty Hambright; 2 nephews; a niece; cousins and other relatives. Nedra, being her father’s long-time caregiver, would like to extend a special thanks to their cousins, Doyle and Linda Hunter for the love; the Nurses, Social Workers, and Chaplains of Adoration Hospice Home Care for all their love, care and support. Also, thanks to Viviant Healthcare for all their love, care, and support. A BIG HUGE THANKS to Kim Wiley, his Hospice Aide, for everything, all her love, care, and support. Kim was a God send. You’re simply the best. Thanks to Dogwood Manor Manager, Melanie White and staff, for all their love, care, and support. Special friends, Ms. Avery Appleberry, Mr. Eddie King, Ms. Beverly Sales, Mr. Jimmie and Mr. Anderson. We love you all for all of your love towards Mr. Hambright. Thank you. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.
