Bobby Prince Dean's Obituary
Bobby Prince Dean, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in a local hospital. He received his formal education at Howard High School. Bobby was employed by DuPont and retired after many years of service. He served in the United States Army, where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received an honorable discharge after completing his years of service.
Having accepted Christ at an early age, Bobby was a faithful and devoted member of New United Missionary Baptist Church. He served the congregation as a Trustee and a member of the Finance Committee, always willing to assist wherever needed. Additionally, Bobby was a member of Masonic Phoenix Lodge #6, where he served as a Past Master.
Bobby enjoyed traveling, cruising, and spending time at family gatherings.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Easter Dean; brothers, Dartie Dean, Simon Dean, Sr., Miles Dean, Louis Dean, Sr., and Homer Taylor; sisters, Inez Dean-Martin, Dovie M. Dean-Paris, and Mildred Dean-Wade.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Belinda Dean Green; sister, Edna Rucker; three grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
He will lie-in-state on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. He will also lie-in-state on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at New United Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Dr. Jeffrey Wilson as the Eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
